Obituary
Efrem Kurtz, the conductor, has died at the age of 94. Born in St Petersburg, he was the grandson of a conductor of the Imperial Russian Court Orchestra and early studies at the St Petersburg Conservatoire were with Tcherepnin and Glazunov. With the revolution Kurtz and his family fled to Berlin...
