YouTube Symphony Orchestra announced ouTube's Symphony Orchestra line-up has now been announced — with two UK musicians among those chosen from 30 countries. Timpanist Owain Williams and hornplayerJim Moffat will join the other winners in a three-day summit in New York, culminating in a performance at Carnegie Hall on April 15 under conductor Michael Tilson Thomas.
The process of choosing the symphony's players began in December last year-, when YouTube invited musicians to submit videos of themselves performing. The site received more than 3000 entries from musicians in 200 countries, which were whittled down by a panel of professional orchestral musicians to a 200-strong short list in February. The finalists' entries were then put to an online public vote. The winners' videos are all on www.youtube.comisymphony
