We are not told where this work was recorded but the entirely French team have exactly captured the atmosphere required to present this Mass in an entirely credible framework. Little imagination is called for; the senses which fit the occasion are automatically registering even though only the ears are really engaged. A fine example of the 'take you there' school of record making.

David Follows dealt with the work and the performance last November and looked forward to the CD. He will not be disappointed, but I do wish the record companies would erase all mention of Side 1 and Side 2 from the CD notes.
