I could hardly believe my eyes when I saw the price of this disc. I have heard far worse versions costing over three times as much. I suppose very soon we shall have to invent some such term as "super-bargain" issue. Stereo too. The economics of the record industry surprise me more and more.
Brahms Violin Concerto with the Phila delphia Orchestra under Ormandy was long in the catalogue. His new version is much better engineered; indeed the balance is delightfully realistic and could not in my view be bettered, while the quality of sound falls most agreeably on the ear in both stereo...
